‘Deltag’ A shared expression of presence

For 3daysofdesign 2025, Garde Hvalsøe and De La Espada opened the doors to Deltag – a joint exhibition for the second year running, rooted in a shared dedication to materials, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

With Deltag, we sought to create a space for more than just presence. A place where one could be part of a whole – where conversations, materials, and people converged. Here, it was not enough to simply observe; you were invited to take part.

Garde Hvalsøe and De La Espada share a deep passion for skilled craftsmanship and enduring design.

The showroom on Esplanaden was transformed into a tactile space where surfaces, forms, and light intertwined.
New pieces by Neri & Hu and Manuel Aires Mateus were shown side by side. Curated by Pernille Vest, the exhibition was shaped into a calm and cohesive composition, the whole became a calm composition – where nothing stood alone, and each element invited reflection.

The exhibition demonstrated how traditional techniques can be integrated with contemporary aesthetics to create functional, beautiful pieces that elevate everyday life. It reminded us to value the artistry and dedication behind exceptional design – and encouraged visitors to invest in the timeless.

Experience Koshido and the Interwoven fronts in our showroom in Copenhagen

As part of the exhibition, we presented two new cabinets – each a reinterpretation of storage, shaped by a focus on materials, detail, and form.

Interwoven Fronts, developed in collaboration with De La Espada, explores the relationship between light and material. The woven walnut fronts create a play of shadows, adding a tactile depth to the surface – where the joints between each piece of wood become a story in themselves.

Also introduced was the Koshido Armoire, created in collaboration with OEO Studio. A freestanding wardrobe where Japanese aesthetics meet Scandinavian cabinetmaking tradition. Vertical lines and calm proportions give the piece a balanced presence – tailored, tactile, and architecturally composed.
