The exhibition has been curated with meticulous attention to detail by interior stylist Pernille Vest, who has carefully handpicked key pieces that perfectly embody the fusion of classic techniques and contemporary aesthetics. Garde Hvalsøe will also proudly display its timeless aesthetic through a number of bespoke kitchens, including a new version of the Framed Style alongside a brand-new Japanese-inspired cabinet. This exquisite piece draws from traditional Japanese craftsmanship, known for its simplicity, minimalism, and profound respect for natural materials. The cabinet, designed in collaboration with OEO Studio, features clean lines and a harmonious balance; constructed with high-quality wood, the cabinet showcases intricate joinery techniques and a natural finish that highlights the wood’s grain, giving each piece a unique character. This blend of meticulous Danish design and Japanese style offers a serene and elegant addition to any modern home.
De La Espada will showcase new contemporary luxury products at the exhibition, which will feature a Portuguese Mediterranean influence. Among these new products is the Albireo Sofa System created by Anthony Guerrée, which is a flexible system with a sense of dynamism brought by the curves of the six modules. The Arts & Crafts cabinet system by De La Espada Atelier will also be on display, reflecting the influence of the movement after which it was named.
Owner Søren Lundh Aagaard comments, “The exhibition celebrates craftsmanship, underscoring the significance of traditional techniques and natural materials in modern design. Garde Hvalsøe and De La Espada share a deep passion for skilled craftsmanship and long-lasting designs. Our commitment to creating pieces that withstand the test of time is beautifully reflected in every element of the exhibition.”
Luis De Oliveira, the co-founder of De La Espada, comments on the exhibition, “Despite the geographical distance, Garde Hvalsøe and De La Espada share very similar values and approaches when it comes to making furniture. Both companies have close relationships with master craftspeople – Garde Hvalsøe with select workshops in Denmark and De La Espada with their own workshop in Portugal. This allows them to stand behind their products’ material choices, detailing, and design. The exhibition blends the traditions of both companies under the creative eye of Pernille Vest, an interior stylist who excels at highlighting the sensory aspects of design.”
